In late January 2011 I completed a queen-sized bed quilt for my parents, using waterlilies fabric in honor of my mother’s love of Monet’s waterlilies. Blue and yellow is always a winning combination.

The pattern was the same as another gift quilt I made for a distant relative whose favorite colors were black and pink.

It’s always interesting to see how radically different quilts can turn out depending on the fabrics chosen.
